Acrobat Pro comes with a set of text-editing tools for adding comments and highlighting text, making collaborative work using PDF documents easy, and similar to google docs. PDF Portfolios in acrobat combines different documents into a single file. Portfolios are essentially templates where variety of files can be added, including Word and Excel documents, Flash videos, TIFFs, PSDs and PNGs, and PDF files. After adjustments to the document and touching up, the user can then export a portfolio file that includes all the documents within a single PDF file. The portfolio can be opened in Acrobat and each document within it can be extracted as required - useful for sending files in batches!
One of the best thing that Acrobat Pro has is the combination of forms and the cloud as well. Forms Central is a service for creating online data-gathering forms quickly and easily, and Create PDF, a pay-for service that allows users to create PDFs online. There are other uses for cloud in Acrobat as well - for example, Adobe SendNow, which is a file-sharing service. Acrobat Pro uses SendNow to upload a PDF document to Adobe’s servers, and sends a message out to one or more e-mail addresses with a download link. While much the same thing can be done using an FTP application to send a file to a particular server and then pasting the URL of that file into an e-mail message, SendNow makes the whole process easier and more secure. Among other things, SendNow tracks files so you can tell if they’ve been downloaded; it also checks them for viruses, so the recipients feel more confident about downloading the files. It’s a pay-for service that requires a (free) Adobe ID together with a monthly subscription.
